I was very excited when a representative from Black & Decker contacted me on doing a review for the new RATCHETING READYWRENCH. There are 2 reasons why I was so excited: one, I haven't been able to find my ratchet handle that goes with my tool set and two, I recently did a huge project where it would have been SUPER helpful to have a ratcheting wrench.

I used the Ratcheting ReadyWrench for a couple of purposes. I had to tighten some training wheels and tighten a hand rail.
I found the Ratcheting ReadyWrench very helpful. Especially for someone like me who can't tell the size socket I need so I spend a lot of time guessing to find the right one. With 16 different size sockets I was able find the size I needed, and fast. The ReadyWrench made it very easy--just a little twist and I had a new size. I loved that.
The ratcheting action made tightening very simple and fast, I also loved that. It was effortless to change the ratchet direction. See the little arrows, a quick spin to one or the other and I was set.
All in all, I think the Ratcheting ReadyWrench is a great tool to add to the tool box. Let's review the pros and cons.
Pros:
1. 16 different size sockets in one place
2. Ratcheting action makes tightening/loosening a snap
3. EASY TO USE
4. Feels sturdy and strong
Cons: I only have one.
1. I think a way to lock the chosen socket size into position would be helpful. I had a small issue with the socket moving a little.
I appreciate Black and Decker giving me this opportunity and I am very excited to share the opportunity to own one of these with one of my readers! Not only did Black and Decker send me a Ratcheting ReadyWrench to review, but they are offering one to a Frugal Home Designs reader.
It is really easy to win one for yourself. Leave a comment on this post about a holiday toy Assembly nightmare. If you don't have one of those, tell me a DIY New Year's Resolution
Lets see those entries. Give away ends Monday December 13th at 10 am.
It is going to be great to not dig this thing out every time I need a wrench.
Black & Decker provided the Ratcheting ReadyWrench without cost for review.

We ALWAYS wait till the last minute and try to put toys together half asleep and as quiet as possible its always a nightmare...Plus they give you the smallest tools to assemble these things :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have one item in particular that I need fixed right now but I am the kind of person that never throws anything away when it breaks. I have to tear it all apart and put it back together and try my hardest to fix it. This tool would be very helpful in my endeavors.

No kids, so no toy assembly stories. My new year's resolution is to finish everything on my to-do list off BEFORE I add anything new. There are items that have been on there for months!
ReplyDeleteMy DIY NY's resolution is to finish painting the rooms in my house. Painting is my least favorite project to do, but my fave in terms of results!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this! It's on my dad's Christmas list so it would be perfect.

ReplyDeleteHavne't had an assembly nightmare (yet!) but my DIY resolution is to actually DO the projects I keep buying supplies for!! LOL
ReplyDeletei have many diy resolutions, that's for sure. we need to progress on our basement remodel, which is hopefully at the point of drywalling. fingers crossed. i would love to add one of these to our tool collection! thanks for this opportunity!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I've tried to do the assemble toys thing, but I had to give up! lol. I let my hubby do it now cuz I end up getting irritated. :) It's usually super late at night and I'm soo tired. This wrench might actually give me the ambition to try again. :)
ReplyDeleteWhile my husband likes toys, they are usually transformers and action figures. No assemble required. I do have lots of upcoming project this could help with. Most notably is bunk beds for a neighbor's kids.
ReplyDeleteI dont really have any assembly stories yet since my little one is still small but I hate, hate, hate taking toys out of boxes and packaging! have you ever encountered those toys that are held to the packaging with screws?!Whoever comes up with toy packaging must not have kids lol.
ReplyDeleteSlicing a finger open while trying to CUT a toy out of those horrible thick zip ties. Probably should have went to the ER for stitches...but used a butterfly bandaid instead. Christmas went on!
ReplyDeleteI'd LOVE to win the tool. My scared thumb would appreciate it. ;-)
Well my Christmas story is not about something I put together... but about a desk my parents bought me as a child.
ReplyDeleteChristmas morning I woke up to a desk my Daddy had worked on late into the night to put together for me. It was the coolest desk and had holes in the top to be able to put a paper picture on the top and put plug type things into the pics. Kind of like a light bright but without the light behind it. Apparently Dad had really worked on it all night. After putting it in my room, I disappeared for a while and my parents were so excited that I loved my stuff so much that I was hanging out and playing with it. So mom came in to get me a while later and my desk was totally taken apart and I was so proud of myself! I was 8 years old and at 36 I am still taking apart things, putting things together and building things! My mom always calls me if she needs something put together that she has bought!
